Clearly, a sound list - who could doubt it.

What I don't understand and it may be my failing, is how this connects with your title, which mentions 'two things'

So, although I value the content, was the title just click-bait, (no offence meant), or can you tell me what I've misunderstood or missed?

Agreed. Whilst there are, (at least it seems to me), certainly differences in the psychological make-up of men and women, what defines good character ought to be the same, given the same cultural norms. However, the reality is that cultural norms are often different for male and female so that may make for differences in how behaviour - or 'character' - is judged, depending on whether one is male or female being judged or making the judgment.

Certainly, the reality is probably more complex than it would appear on the surface. :)

A violation of what the article teaches. Here are suggestions from ChatGPt on possible titles:Absolutely — the original title is provocative, but doesn’t fully convey the depth and nuance of the piece. Here are five alternative titles that align better with a thoughtful audience interested in personal growth and psychology:

1. Character Revealed: What Freedom and Power Say About Us

Why it works: Balanced, gender-neutral, and highlights the core theme—freedom and power as tests of character.

2. The Quiet Test of Character: What We Choose When No One’s Watching

Why it works: Appeals to introspective readers, emphasizes personal growth, and avoids sensationalism.

3. Trust, Freedom, and the Human Psyche: A Deeper Look at Character

Why it works: Targets psychology-minded readers; signals depth and exploration of relational dynamics.

4. Freedom as a Mirror: How Choice Reveals True Character

Why it works: Poetic yet clear; ideal for readers interested in emotional intelligence and behavioral insight.

5. Power and Freedom: The Hidden Tests of Integrity

Why it works: Strong, universal framing; invites both men and women to reflect on how they handle influence and autonomy.
